Merrill Hicks, M.D.
Dr. Merrill Hicks is co-Medical Director of
Archbold Dialysis Services of Thomasville, Georgia. He is a graduate of Tulane
University & studied medicine at theUniversity of Mississippi Medical
Center, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Vanderbilt University
Medical Center, after which he served as Chief Resident at the Nashville,
Tennessee VA Medical Center. Following 10 years' of private practice in his
hometown of Greenwood, MS, Dr. Hicks completed a Nephrology Fellowship under Dr.
John Bower, again at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he
became convinced that home hemodialysis is the superior form of renal
replacement therapy. This belief, & the desire to see every dialysis
patient experience maximally beneficial therapy, frames his professional
interests. Dr. Hicks lives with his wife Deborah about fifty feet from the John
D. Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA. They have 4 grown
children.
